This characteristic means that the diaphragm of the microphone picks up sound evenly from all directions. The MKH 8020 has a very small design and a robust metal housing, making it suitable for use in studio and live situations. The special feature of the Sennheiser 8000 series is the modularity of the products, which means that the capsules of the microphones can be easily removed and replaced with another (with a different directional characteristic). A phantom voltage of 48V is required to operate the microphone.
