The body is constructed from mahogany with internal resonance chambers, complemented by a maple back and top. Distinctive F-holes and a curly maple veneer add visual flair and contribute a warm acoustic timbre to the tone. Alongside the proven PRS 58/15 "S" humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, the guitar is equipped with a wraparound bridge that includes a piezo pickup. Developed in collaboration with pickup specialist L.R. Baggs, this system delivers airy and articulate acoustic-style tones. These can be routed through a combined magnetic/mix output with independent volume controls or sent separately via the dedicated piezo output to amplifiers, effect units or DI boxes. For playability, a wide fat neck profile with traditional dimensions offers the familiar PRS feel. Classic bird inlays and the figured maple top enhance the instrument's striking visual appeal. With the SE Hollowbody II Piezo Orange Tiger Smokeburst, Paul Reed Smith now offers the famous hollowbody model as part of the SE series.
